Day 3 | LONGYEARBYEN | ISFJORDEN

This morning is set aside for relaxed exploration of Longyearbyen, the northernmost settlement of its kind. Colorful wooden buildings stand in contrast to the stark white landscape, offering striking photographic compositions even before your expedition begins. You may also visit the Svalbard Museum to gain insight into polar exploration, wildlife, and local history.
Before boarding the ship, take time to enjoy the Arctic light. In April, the sun remains low in the sky, creating long shadows and soft illumination that enhances landscape photography. The crisp air and quiet surroundings provide a sense of stillness that defines the polar environment.
In the afternoon, you transfer to the port and embark your expedition vessel. As the ship sails out into Isfjorden, the town recedes behind you and the true wilderness begins. Snow-covered peaks rise on both sides as you enter the Arctic fjord system that will lead you deeper into remote polar territory.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 4 | ISFJORDEN | PRINS KARLS FORLAND

Your first full day of Arctic exploration begins in the broad fjord system of Isfjorden. Sea ice often lingers along the shoreline at this time of year, creating prime conditions for spotting wildlife. Expedition staff keep watch for seals resting on ice and polar bears moving along the coastal margins.
Zodiac excursions may begin today, allowing you to explore close to shore and navigate among ice formations. Traveling at water level offers a powerful sense of scale as towering mountains and glaciers surround you. Each outing is shaped by weather and ice conditions, adding to the spirit of true expedition travel.
Later, the ship sails north past Prins Karls Forland, a long island known for walrus haul-outs when ice retreats. The dramatic coastal scenery, shifting sea ice, and Arctic wildlife encounters provide a compelling introduction to the polar ecosystems you will explore over the coming days.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 5 | ARCTIC OCEAN | ICE EDGE

Today you venture farther north toward the shifting ice edge of the Arctic Ocean. This boundary between open water and pack ice is one of the most dynamic natural environments on Earth. Ice floes fracture, drift, and collide, forming ever-changing patterns across the sea.
This region is critical habitat for seals and polar bears. With patience and careful observation, you may witness bears patrolling the ice in search of prey or seals hauled out on drifting platforms. Wildlife sightings here are never guaranteed, but the possibility adds an exciting sense of anticipation to every hour on deck.
Even when wildlife is not visible, the scenery itself is extraordinary. Sculpted ice, deep blue shadows, and reflective leads of water offer endless opportunities for creative photography. The silence and vastness of the Arctic Ocean emphasize how far you are from the modern world.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 6 - 9 | SPITSBERGEN NORTHWEST | ARCTIC FJORDS

Over the next several days, exploration focuses on the remote northwest coast of Spitsbergen. This region is characterized by towering glaciers that spill into the sea, sharp mountain ridges, and fjords carved by ancient ice. Each day’s route is determined by ice conditions and wildlife activity.
Zodiac cruises bring you close to glacier fronts where blue ice cliffs rise dramatically above the water. You may hear the distant crack of calving ice or the echo of seabirds nesting on nearby cliffs. Landings, when safe, allow you to step ashore in truly untouched Arctic landscapes.
Wildlife remains a constant focus. The expedition team scans for polar bears, Arctic foxes, Svalbard reindeer, and seabird colonies. Every outing offers something different, reinforcing the unpredictable and immersive nature of exploration in one of the planet’s last great wilderness areas.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 10 | SPITSBERGEN COAST | LONGYEARBYEN

Today the ship turns south, beginning the journey back toward Longyearbyen. Use this time to review photographs, attend presentations from the expedition team, and reflect on the landscapes and wildlife encounters of the past days.
Sailing through familiar fjords now feels different, as your understanding of the Arctic environment has deepened. The mountains, glaciers, and sea ice that once felt alien now seem part of a powerful and interconnected ecosystem.
After disembarkation, you transfer back to your hotel in Longyearbyen. A warm shower and comfortable bed are welcome luxuries after days at sea, and the evening is free to enjoy town at your own pace.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 11 | LONGYEARBYEN | ADVENTURE VALLEY

Today you experience Arctic travel in traditional style with a dog sledding excursion. Teams of eager huskies pull sleds across frozen valleys and snowy terrain, guided by experienced mushers who know the landscape intimately.
The journey leads toward a glacier where an ice cave awaits. Inside, layers of compressed snow and ice glow in shades of blue, revealing the hidden interior of a glacier shaped over centuries. Walking through these frozen tunnels is both visually stunning and geologically fascinating.
This final adventure adds a human dimension to your Arctic experience, connecting you with the traditions of polar travel. Returning to Longyearbyen, you carry memories of not only landscapes and wildlife, but also the heritage of life in the far north.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 12 | LONGYEARBYEN | OSLO | SINGAPORE
After breakfast, you transfer to the airport for your return journey. As your aircraft lifts off, take a final look at the glaciers and mountains surrounding Longyearbyen, a reminder of the remote world you have just explored.
Your flight south retraces the path back through Oslo and onward to Singapore. The gradual return to busier skies and warmer climates highlights the contrast between everyday life and the silence of the High Arctic.
You arrive home with memory cards full of powerful images and a deeper appreciation for the fragile beauty of the polar environment. The experience of traveling at the edge of the world will remain with you long after the journey ends.
